The Act+Acre
Guide to NYC

Act+Acre Team

Our roots may be in Ireland, but our very essence is alive and well in the streets of New York. From our home office in Tribeca, to the many inspiring creatives that paint the city with color, to the character of each borough, this city acts as Act+Acre’s muse. And now that it’s summer and the world’s a  bit more open, we’re honored  to share the goodness that is NYC. And if you decide to swing by the Act+Acre  store on the Lower East Side , we’ll treat you extra nice.

Eat

  • Emma's Torch —great food, with great impact. This restaurant provides culinary training to refugees while guiding them to find careers in the food industry.
  • Eatwith—Immersive dining experiences...at a strangers house. Diversity your palate as you taste your way through the city with homemade cooking and undeniable hospitality.
  • Jajaja—a team favorite, without a doubt. We love their playful menu, enticing ambience, and cocktails. And the churritos. The churritos!!
  • Pilot— “a seasonal oyster bar aboard one of America's most prized wooden schooners.” Say no more. We’re there.

Stay

  • Camp Rockaway—solace near the city for the best basecamp/glamping adventure. S’more please.
  • Collective Retreats—set in Governors Island, find sanctuary in this unique escape just a 8-minute boat taxi ride away from downtown Manhattan.
  • Public Hotel— “A luxurious and quintessential NYC experience. Come here for a stay, for drinks, for a boogie, or for great views of the city.

Play

  • Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farms—Dig your hands into the dirt, pick up a CSA box, learn about urban beekeeping, or connect with the natural cycles of being...all with an unbeatable view of the city. Part-urban farm, part-event space, and as the world’s leader in soil rooftop farming (cool), Brooklyn Grange is iconic and well worth the visit.
  • HealhausAct+Acre’s go to studio and coffee shop for deep hip openers, diverse healing modalities, and arguably the best chai in the city. You have our full permission to zen out.
  • Little IslandForm and function meet for a 2.4 acre floating park that hosts affordable and diverse events. It’s architecturally stunning, filled with more than 350 species of fauna, and a welcome respite from the concrete jungle. Find us here on summer nights.

Culture

  • Van Gogh Exhibita favorite for a reason. Traditional Van Gogh pieces find new life with a modern twist. Also makes for a great IG post...just saying.
  • Kusama: Cosmic NatureImmerse yourself into contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s world. We love her whimsical view of the world. Free tickets on Wednesday ;)

Pamper

  • Aire Ancient BathsThis is our petition to make bathing a la Aire a weekly thing. Find renewal and relaxation in this bathhouse right in the heart of TiBeCa—a self declared oasis among the bustle. A journey, more than anything, Aire is where we go to unwind and relish in ancient bathing rituals. If only we were allowed to take our Restore Collection inside (hint, hint Aire).
  • Oula HealthSerene support for mothers to be. This maternity center is warm, state-of-the-earth, and thinks through pregnancy care with the utmost grace
  • The Act+Acre Store—We’re out and about this summer. Stay informed on open houses at our 54 Eldridge Flagship, pop up events in the city and seaside, and new stockists. Keep your eyes out.

Nourish the mind and soul with a scent formulated to take you back to the sweet sacred space that is a warm shower—a place to think, to be, and to just exist.
