How much Salicylic Acid Scalp Exfoliator should be applied to the scalp?
A thin line per section. Use the pointed nozzle to draw sections across the scalp and lightly squeeze to apply a thin line of gel. Massage well and enjoy the cooling sensation.
How often should the Salicylic Acid Scalp Exfoliator be used, and for how long?
Scalp Renew is a weekly pre-cleanse treatment. Leave it in for 15 minutes and follow with a thorough cleanse. Do not leave in for extended periods or overnight.
Can I use both the Salicylic Acid Scalp Exfoliator and Scalp Detox together?
You can use both of products 1x per week (on differing days) prior to washing your hair. We recommend leaving each of them on for around 15-20 minutes before rinsing.
On dry hair, apply a thin layer directly to scalp. Use fingers to massage in + let sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse well + follow with a double cleanse.

I picked this up because I use a lot of hair products ( curl girl here) and it’s important for me to get rid of all the build up that my scalp accumulates overtime to keep up with a healthy scalp. The pattern I’ve noticed with act and acres products has been how truly lightweight and absorbing they are. As soon as this gel touches the scalp you feel that refreshing, minty sensation. After the 20-30min wait it still gives you a little extra playtime. When you wet your scalp it lathers just a bit to really get a good cleanse. Does not leave my fine curl feeling heavy or stripped. So I’ll continue using to see the long term benefits .

My scalp problems have not cleared up 100% yet, but this has provided the most relief of anything I have tried. I do find it to be more effective when I use a scalp massager to really make sure the product is applied liberally to my scalp. Most days I have minor irritation, but it is so much easier to resist scratching and making the problem worse. I finally have hope that I can get everything under control.

I have been using the Act + Acre line of products for the past 8 months or so. I am obsessed. I was looking for clean products that are phthalate-free but that actually perform well and don't leave my fine textured, straight hair feeling weighed down. I finally found a winner. I use the salicylic acid scalp exfoliator about once a week to help control oil on my scalp and follow it with the cold processed shampoo and conditioner. The Salicylic acid treatment has a cooling sensation when on my scalp that feels amazing and like it is getting in the hair follicles and clearing out the build up. Love this product.
